Why we love gaming so much

Is it perhaps just a part of the human condition?

I sometimes stop to ask myself "why am I playing games? Should I be doing something else instead?" I guess I sometimes worry about investing so much time and effort into a transient hobby

I don't game all that much and sometimes wish I had more time for it. I usually game 1 evening a week sometime over the weekend. I then end up playing for 3-4 hours. So in the greater scheme of things 20 hours a month seems acceptable to "waste" on gaming.

i dont game as much as i used to, games are becoming way too technical these days and alot of the newer titles are technical achievements indeed but a vast amount dont have the fun factor anymore in my opinion.

I think gaming was more popular in our teen years mainly because of no career and more time on your hands. Nowadays, we all have working lives and sometimes not lus to game. At least in my experience

I only really game when I have a new game to play, but once finished I seldom play it again unless it's really good or offers alternative narrative paths. Witcher 3 is the first game in years that has kept me busy for so long, but usually it's 2 days of gaming and then nothing for a long time until the next game comes along. I don't regret any time I spend on it, it is probably my favourite thing in life and I don't even feel bad about that.

As far as I'm concerned, gaming keeps me away from doing foolish things, as I had done in the past. Aside from that, I love playing games. I gets me to actually read shit that I otherwise would not have.

I love gaming because, it alows me to play in a different world, that is usually better than our own, it allows me to forget how shit ours is, even if it is just for a moment.

no idea why I enjoy playing video games to this day. I tend to not analyze things, blame laziness maybe but reading to much into why I do things is a waste of my time. I just like it, end of story.
