I loved the Silent Hill series and Outlast was brilliant. I'm sad to say that I haven't played any of the other games in this list.
I haven't played any of those. Only survival horror type game I played (and not very far) was Amensia: A Dark Descent. Just not my type of games I guess - I'm probably too much of a wuss
Does Resident Evil count?
Played and fin-- Played it cooperatively years ago.
Loved all of those except Siren. Just couldn't get into that franchise. Honorable mentions for me go to the Dino Crisis franchise, Clock Tower and it's spiritual successor Haunting Ground. This is my favourite genre so I wish there were more AAA titles being made. Right now all there is to look forward to is Until Dawn.
Silent Hill 2 is the king of survival horrors.Its mixture of puzzles and combat has yet to be beat.
Survival Horror games has never been my type of games at all. I scare quite easily and I'm too much of a pansy to try these. I couldn't finish Alan Wake because it freaked me out too much. Same with Dead Space. Played Dead Space 1 for exactly 45 minutes before I noped the hell out of that game.

also House of the dead overkill was/is one of the hardest survival shooters i have played
