Software on Steam

Do any of you own any non-games, or rather software on Steam?

I know some people would much rather buy software that isn't linked and bound to a system like Steam but I'm the opposite. I wish some of the software I use were available through Steam. It creates a monopoly for them which is unfortunate but I like having everything in one place. Plus it greatly eases finding and installing the software if you uninstall it and want to install it again later.

At this stage I own 5 software products on Steam. Only two of which I really use but with the hope that I'll use the others in the future.

What are your thoughts on software on Steam?

I only own one application on Steam, not sure how I feel about them in general. I think it feels kind of weird when a message pops up for my friends saying I'm now playing You need a Budget. I suppose it's a nice way to get software on discounts, where you wouldn't normally even know it's on special.

I saw that. I thought it was some kind of indie-type game. :D

Steam is fine for games. In fact, I actually prefer it. But I'd rather keep my software separate.

I've got You need a Budget on steam. I don't run it through the client though. I have a shortcut to the exe file in the steam folder. Other than that I've got the indie game movie.
