Here's the thing, it's kind of difficult to give an idea, in the sense that almost every kind of channel for gaming exists. So usually what happens with channels is that you provide something different that people may or may not have realized they wanted, and end up liking/loving it.
So the real question from me is, what's your core idea? Do you want to do playthroughs? Do you want to do commentary on games and the industry? Do you want to provide news? Do you want to do general podcasts?
Then the follow-up question to that is, once you've decided on your core idea? What will you bring to the table that makes people want to watch your channel? Will you have a comedic element? Will you provide insight? Do you have a personality that allows you not to need a differentiating factor amongst the myriad of channels?
Answer those questions and you'll be on the right track, because the core idea should be about what YOU want to share with your audience, only then can you get real opinions from potential viewers on how to make your core idea better.
Here's an example of our channel at eAe Gaming:
We have Dota 2 casters/commentators and we upload our VODs, and then on the flipside, we have candid podcasts about general geek culture (movies, shows, games, comics, etc).
