    we get ripped off

    old titles still gets sold for original price at certain stores!

    Its all got to do with nr.1 the distributors in the country who all decide the retail prices for newly released games.

    All the companies who sell them for less than recommended retail carries the loss themselves but it works on the principle if my game is cheaper than yours everyone will flood my stores and that R30 odd i loose will be made up quickly.

    Also some stores get bulk specials from distributors. i.e. if BT Games has one of there mega sales where you can get xbox and ps3 game for R150-00 up its because a place like Megarom would have had a conversation with them and said we a 4000 copies of this we want to get rid off well give it to you at R50 each if you take all 4000.

    But when it comes to brand new games thats all on the distributors. They decide the prices at the end of the day.

    What I don't get is how I managed to get Dirt 2 @ IC last week for R99. Something horribly wrong with that picture

    lol. I managed to get Unreal ANthology back in the day for 99 bucks. Later at the same store, price as R299. LOL. Their loss!

    Is it still viable to order from places in Europe? I recall a while back there being a large issue about getting them cheap from certain sites.

    Personally I try to support the local retailers, but it is getting harder and harder with these console game prices. Sarcasm - Can't wait till they go over the R700 mark for a normal edition... Especially for an action title that is likely to entertain me for under 10hrs.

    That is really.. cheap. Somewhere they messed up. I take it that special is not on anymore?
