    Question Clicker Games

So what's the deal with all these clicker games these days? I see a lot of my friends on Steam play them.

Games like Adventure Capitalist, Clicker heroes, Tap heroes, Cookie Clicker and so forth.

To me it looks like all you do is click. The whole time. Basically in the same location. I don't get it. What's the appeal?

This goes out especially to some people who have over 20 hours in Adventure Capitalist. Or some people who have over a 100 hours spent!

The draw for me is that I can "play" the game without having to engage my brain at all, which is something I want more and more often after a day at work. So I can just mindlessly click, or have it run in the background while I do something else like watch series and then every now and then I will purchase a few upgrades and ignore it again.

I started with Cookie Clicker but left it once I "beat" it, then I did Wall Destroyer which lasted me a lot longer than Cookie Clicker, but which I also inevitably beat.
Now I am busy with Adventure Capitalist and Time Clickers.

For research, Wall Destroyer can be found here: http://orteil.dashnet.org/experiment...?game=hczBgm6k

Don't do it soli! Don't join the dark side. I wish I could ignore those kinds of games but once I open it I have to beat the game aka all achievements.

Believe me when I say I don't even love them I just can't resist. It is my addictive personality....

I find it kinda odd that people get addicted to them.

Played both the cookie making one and the capitalist one, both got boring within 5min.

Dude... I have a few friends who have 300+ hours.

Personally I don't subscribe to these types of games, frankly I don't see the point in them. There's no progression and no failure state, not a game as far as I'm concerned, at least by my definition of game.

I don't know why I play these types of games...

At the moment I'm playing Adventure Capitalist and Clicker Heroes, but for the life of me I don't know why. There is something very addictive about clicking and getting more and more stuff.

Also, it's an easy game to just click for a moment, leave and let it run in the background and click some more later.

Don't even say the word cookie clicker... now you have me intrigued about these other clicker games
