Default Who is your favourite game reviewer?

Excluding MyGaming of course which is naturally on top of everybody's list, who is your go-to game reviewer(s) when doing pre-purchase research?

Now this can be on any platform of course. Web, print, youtube, whatever.

I've narrowed it down to 2... kind

First off is Fortress of Solitude. solid reviews without getting too technical and focusing on the important things like fun factor and replayability.

Then there's Zero Punctuation... this is more for entertainment value really as I tend to disagree with most of his reviews. So when he eventually does give a game a "good" review you know it's gonna be gold.

For me it's Rock Paper Shotgun's "Wot I Think" reviews. They just review games so well and do so without a score.

Then I also always watch Zero Punctuation but only because I enjoy them. I've loved some of the games that he's hated.

TotalBiscuit for sure, though not a conventional reviewer. I've given up with reviews per se and rather opt for something along these lines as it's a more in depth "thoughts on" type of video.

    Honorable mentions:
    FrankieonPC
    Kinda Funny Games
    Game Informer
Euro Gamer (I enjoy reading their reviews)

I used to love Kieron Gillen back when he was reviewing for PC Zone in the UK. Later he became Reviews Editor. Clearly he was pretty good as he now works for Marvel writing classic comics like Uncanny X-Men.

These days I trust no reviews. I prefer to play games on their own merit, rather than what someone else thinks of them. That being said though, many of my mates like the same type of games and thus we end up reviewing games for each other.

I stopped watching IGN and Gamespot almost entirely; TB and AJS is all I need. AJS will tell me in detail what IGN and Gamespot will summise in 6 (or so) minutes.

Yeah, I unsubbed from IGN cos they just fsking spam videos. I still sub to Gamespot purely for their news and The Lobby. Danny O'Dwyer is really really good.
