Yeah only Rockstar can get away with that. But even R500 - R600 is still damn expensive for a PC game and many people, myself included, prefer physical copies so the wait until it becomes cheap is usually very long. CoD Advanced Warfare has been out for nearly a year and it's still R600 at most retail stores. Digital is obviously cheaper (Mad Max can be obtained for $20 if you know where to look), but not everyone can, or even want to, download full games from steam and the like.

To be fair, it's still the same price on Steam. Activision really doesn't understand the sales market on PC. Even the older Call of Duty games are still super expensive.

I also prefer physical copies, but if I have to pay a ridiculous amount more, than I'd rather just go digital. I prefer disks because it's usually faster than downloading, but so many games release in broken states that you still end up downloading 10 gigs in patches, so the benefit of having a disk at the point is essentially 0.

That's exactly my point. Unless it's on a sale/special PC games are still expensive as well. I wanted to buy Borderlands 2 GOTY for a friend but it's $40 on steam and I know BT sold it for R50 on a clearance a while ago. Gaming in general is getting very expensive.
