Sighmonotony is compounded by a dearth of unique objectives in these locales. You’re always fighting the same groups of enemies, blowing up the same fuel tanks, tearing down the same sniper’s nests with your car. The side content in Mad Max is textbook open-world bloatanother one of those I can't take right now.

Yeah, can't disagree with that. I've been ignoring much of the side content. Assassin's Creed has really ruined a whole generation of open-world games with its "shopping-list" style side content.
