+1 to the game's soundtrack or ambient sounds. Developers spend tons of money to make sure the sounds and music add to the atmosphere. Imagine listening to random music whilst watching an Oscar-winning movie - it just doesn't work. For random relaxing games (like Minesweeper or Solitaire) which I never have time for anymore, I listen to prog metal.
