So I gave the game a try over the weekend. First off, it looks great, especially the amount of detail in all the chaos on the battlefield. I used mouse and keyboard to play and maybe that was a mistake because at times it felt finicky and especially in pitched battle it's hard to see in which direction your guard is up.
It may well be the latency but movements felt a bit sluggish.

It felt immensely satisfying to win a duel - especially when you kick someone off a bridge or cliff. But I don't know if I feel like investing the time to get good enough to really enjoy the game. CSGO scratches my competitive itch.

What the game did do was make me want to play Chivalry: Medieval Warfare again - the impacts and physicality of that game are just so enjoyable.

I've watch a fair amount of gameplay, and the game seems to lack depth. It's like an Assassins Creed or Skyrim game but combat only with the rest of the game thrown out.

I thought the same, but the more you look at it the more you'll realize that the "depth" is in the combat. The combat, much like a fighting game, is very combo-esque and very deep and has a high skill ceiling.

And here we have the For Honor cash-cow, insert DLC, season pass and microtransactions here...

And I found this video quite informative.

    • Open Beta
    • Beta progress will not carry over to the full game.
    • It's open. You don't need to pre-order, get a code from someone, etc.
    • Only thing you need is to (pre-)download the Open Beta when it's available and start playing on Feb 9th at 9AM ET / 3 PM CET / 4PM SA
    • Pre-load will start on February 6th.

    • Closed Beta Client update
    • Those who still have the CB installed, don't delete it, there's a patch available so you can use the same client.
    • PS4: After CB ended, there's been 2 updates; 1.02 and 1.03. Both are ~8GB but there hasn't been 16GB of data added to the game files. 1.03 is basically the 1.02 but with additional Major online fix and rest of it is same as 1.02.
    • X1: 26GB update. It's basically just a re-download with the same patch as PS4.
    • PC: Same thing with update, not sure about file sizes.

Already downloaded. Granted I've only got Xbox One.
