Need your opinions on Steam Community giveaways.

I've been noticing quite a lack of interest in the Steam Community giveaways these days, so I decided to create a poll to determine what can be changed to fix this.

Please vote and leave any comments you may have.

Keep in mind you can vote for multiple options.

Well you already know my story. I feel a bit bad because of my big backlog. I've become a game collector and even though I try to play as often as I can my collection keeps on growing.

So I tend to enter only for games that I know I will play very soon, that are very high on my wishlist.

As for giveaways that I create well I normally specify that I would like at least 5 people to enter. I don't care when you play a game.

For me, I used to create quite a few giveaways, but over the last few months real life hit me and I now have my own bond to pay etc so I'm not spending much on giveaways. I don't really buy bundles, so i don't have spare games lying around to give away. All of my giveaways I bought specifically to use as a Mygaming giveaway.

So I still partake and sometimes do a giveaway, just not as often and whenever I have the spare cash :)

I still enter the odd game that interests me, I just don't want to win games that I won't play.
 
The rand is just too weak at the moment. I can't really afford to buy decent games to give away, thus I'd feel too bad to participate in any giveaways.
 
I used to participate in the giveaways, but after the participant removal saga I threw a hissy-fit and decided not to go back.

I have too many games anyway, it would be pointless to keep trying for giveaways even for games that I have a slight interest in playing.

All that being said, I appreciate the effort made by Eugene in moderating the thread as well as to all those who gave away the prizes. Thanks guys and girls.

Same here. My Steam backlog is pretty huge. So it feels kinda wrong entering the giveaways.

I need to create some more giveaways though :D.
 
I'll repeat my comment I gave in the GA thread.

I don't enter GA's if I think I won't play the game. I don't want to enter just for the hell of it, then win it, and then it sits in my library for always and never gets played. OR I win the game and don't play while someone else might have actually wanted the game and would have played it.

Perhaps people can specify with their GA's something like: Only enter if you'll play, all entries welcome (game hoarders welcome), only enter if your 2nd toe is longer than your big toe (pics or didn't happen), etc. ?

Lack of entry because I'm not a big fan of platformers or have it in my backlog :p
 
I don't like entering the giveaways because i'm not as active on the forum as i used to be and so i feel like i'm just freeloading if i enter the giveaways.
 
I used to be a bit active in that thread, but I lost interest after I lost my PC. I've still not fixed it, and I'm seriously considering selling my PC, which will make me a console gamer fully. That is the biggest reason why I stopped participating in the giveaways

i put my console on once in a blue moon to play a game of battlefield and/or find the strength to finish some of my SP games.. :p

One day when i get a new phone I will be able to get active again.
 
I only ever entered when I really really wanted a game, and I gave away a couple of bundle extra's a few times. But when all the drama came a couple of months ago (a year ago?) I decided that I'd rather not participate. I had already seen some behavior that I wasn't a fan of, and then the way that the drama took hold of the entire forum made me not want anything to do with the GA's.
