Looks like some guys trying to cash in on a fantastic idea...

I just dont get how these guys can justify this? Its not even a geek "crate" its a geek cardboard box...

Also do they just throw in a gaming magazine for shits? If i wanted a nag i would go to the shop and buy one... Now are we supposed to wait and see what the crate has before buying anything?

Looking at their responses on MyBB, I think these students are in over their heads. They did not do market research and they do not understand their demographic. Hopefully they can turn this around, but they were definitely not prepared before they started this company.

I would rather support a local company than have another US company come to SA, but at this point the value compared to Lootcrate is incredibly low.

It makes little difference. Most of these products are from the US anyway. It's not like the local SA company would produce local comics, local figures, local games, local anime and so on. All of this stuff comes from a handful of nations (US, Japan, UK, Korea and some European countries like Poland for Witcher) and 99% of manufacturing is in China.

Personally I don't understand why an individual would undertake this. AWX would have been perfect since they already have the suppliers, customers and reputation. University kids just don't have the required information for something like this.

And they're expensive as heck. Unless they were to sell knock off Chinese made counterfeit merchandise like much of the cheap stuff on Ebay.
