    Unhappy Live Streaming on Twitch

    Hi Everyone

Alright so i have read a lot of forums about throttling i find them being outdated. I'm currently with Telkom as ISP with a Downstream Line Rate (Kbps): 2048 and Upstream Line Rate (Kbps): 512.

I actually just got throttled a few days ago because i got my new gaming pc last week Wednesday Intel i7 5930k 6 core overclocked 4,4ghz, asus x99 pro motherboard, corsair vengence ddr4 2133mhz 32gb quad kit ram and 2 980 ti sli graphic cards.

I downloaded over 110gb of games at the moment during last weekend so i cant really say how much i used this month in total. I didn't have issues with this ever but maybe i went overboard.

Anyways i know the current uncapped bundle i have at the moment is not sufficient to do live streams on any games, but that's why i'm posting this here hoping that you guys can help me out. I have everything else listed and being ordered to get ready for streaming/youtube. The connection upgrade will be the last step.

I also see that the telkom site where the bundles used to show upstream and downstream are no longer avaible on the site adsl bundles i don't know if this is due to them changing there prices end of this month?

I am looking to upgrade to 10mb 20mb or even 40mb if needed staying with telkom. I don't know if upstream is what i need to look out mostly as well i would like to stream in 720 or 1080p.

Is it possible for you guys to help me out as i am also worried about being throttled with 10mb,20mb,40mb because i only recently heard about usage limits even with a uncapped bundles, i'm prepared to do 6-8 hour streams per day upload videos on youtube, downloading, browsing, playing and watching series films.

Yeah with Telkom, and a lot of other ISP's if you download excessively outside of 0:00-6:00am they throttle you. That's why you'll find most folk here are on large capped packages, as they are unshaped.

I see, well i read a thread someone posted up here capped and uncapped does telkom shape or throttle capped pakages now since he posted it a few months ago?

And i actually went to do this tool checker to see what speeds my line can handle at the moment in my area and it says not more than 2mbps *_*.

If i contact telkom and ask them to install a fiber http://www.telkom.co.za/today/shop/h...100mbps-fibre/ in my area would they do it? And the reason i say the 100mbps is because the softcap seems to say 200gb. I don't think this will be enough though to stream out of the free night surfer as im not sure how much GB it takes to stream 6-8hours dailly in 480 -720p. And game, browse, watch series films. Is it possible to add on gb with that bundle?

If i was you depending what area you are in i would go and register on all the fiber sites, you may be surprised to see some of the fiber companies coming to your area already... The thing about fiber is that your upload rate matches your download so i have a 10 meg fiber line, 10 meg up 10 meg down...

Check out http://greencom.co.za/ assuming you are in JHB...

Thanks for your response's so far guys really appreciate it , I forgot to mention the area i live in Kwazulu-Natal -Suburb= Trafalgar -Postal code 4275. I don't know any sites near me at the moment i came back from europe not to long ago. Wow i didn't know that capped packages are 10up and 10down that means it's possible to stream in 1080p in SA now? And can you buy more Sofcapt GB to add on your Softcap limit?
