Losing a day in a manufacturing plant is equal to a huge drop in productivity though. It can affect your agreements, sales, support and a bunch of other stuff.
The same applies to Public holidays. SA loses billions of rands for a single Public Holiday. The same would apply to this one day off a week.
Wagers are one of those classes that simply cannot wait for their pay at the end of the week, cause they live from week to week. Receiving one day less of wages will be huge for them, I can bet.
