Default The Bullrun: A home made Top Gear challenge

So last night Talentloos brought my attention to this thing called The Bullrun, which I have apparently somehow missed over the past 3 years of it's existence. So basically a couple of mates were inspired by a Top Gear challenge and decided to try it themselves and then challenge their mates to do the same.

So you have a budget of R15000 to buy, fix and equip a four door sedan older than 30 years for your 5 day dirt road tour of the western and northern cape. Pimp it however you like and give your car a name as well... AWESOME RIGHT! Now if only I had R15000 lying around

You can get the full story and info HERE

Now let's say you got a cash sponsor, what would be your ride of choice (taking your budget and needs into consideration) and what would your car be called?

My choice, 1983 Ford Cortina 1600 a.k.a. Red Rocket

I was just quoting the exact words my father told me when we started looking for cars.

I personally think you should get a mini. That will be the most fun. And they give you more points for a smaller engine.

Buy a mini for 5k, spend like 3k on the repairs; rest = booze money

I don't think I fit in a mini. plus, not enough space for booze

You get the tech vehicle to carry the booze.
