Microsoft Announces Surface Book Laptop

Microsoft has announced the Surface Book, Microsoft's first ever laptop.

It will be available for pre-order from October 7 until its release on October 26, and it'll cost you $1,499. Microsoft says that the Surface Book is 50% faster than the MacBook Pro.

The screen is detachable and becomes a tablet that's designed to be like a clipboard. You can then reverse the screen and plug it back into the base which contains the GPU for "draw mode."

It has a 13.5-inch screen, featuring 267 dpi and 6 million pixels. Its trackpad is made of glass and is tuned for speed and control, along with five points of touch control.

The Surface Book is set to include an Intel processor and an Nvidia GeForce GPU, although the exact models have not been unveiled yet. It has high-speed GDDR5 memory, and 12 hours of battery life.

The Surface Dock that Microsoft also announced today will work with the Surface Book along with the Surface Pro 3 and 4.

Nice, looks decent, but for some reason I am very suspicious of it, don't know why but I suspect there would be some kind of catch that would only be discovered a few months after it's release.
