rAge 2015 busts attendance records with over 33,000 visitors

Last weekend's rAge expo was hotter even than the 5 million degree weather in Joburg, melting previous attendance records with 33,068 visitors crammed into the TicketPro Dome nerd furnace over the three day event.

Visitors queued up for some close-up, hands-on time with unreleased games like Rise of the Tomb Raider and Guitar Hero Live, plus heaps of locally-developed games. Over at the NAG LAN, 2568 gamers powered by energy drinks and sleep deprivation-induced psychosis managed to download 143 TB and upload 46 TB of... stuff on Internet Solutions' 6.5 Gbps internet connection.

"This show is a fantastic spectacle and serves as a reminder to the whole industry why we work so hard all year," says Michael James, senior project manager at rAge.

Next year, Cape Town will host the Mother Gatsby City's first ever rAge at the GrandWest Casino and Entertainment World in March.
