Default PS4 Outsells Xbox One In September But Microsoft Is Gaining

Despite the fact that industry analysts say that the Sony PS4 outsold the Microsoft Xbox One again in September, it appears as of Microsoft is finally seeing some real movement towards the top of the heap. The Xbox One “continued to see strong momentum” in the month, Microsoft explained in a statement issued on October 19. The company wouldn’t release actual sales numbers but said the Xbox One saw very strong year-over-year sales numbers in the latest quarter.

The momentum Microsoft is seeing comes at just the right time, as the company is hoping the Holiday season is going to be a big winner as the firm prepares to release “greatest games lineup in the industry and in Xbox history.” Along with this games lineup the company is also revamping the dashboard for its flagship console and while there are still some glitches before its ready for primetime, Microsoft is clearly getting closer to being ready to unleash the new Xbox One Experience onto the general public.

Considering that games like Halo 5: Guardians and Rise of the Tomb Raider are coming exclusively to the Xbox One this winter, the company has a point when it comes to touting its lineup. One of the lest surprising pieces of information that surfaced this week is that both the PS4 and Xbox One are perfoming quite well when being compared to the Xbox 360 and PS3. Both Sony and Microsoft say sales for their current generation consoles are about 40 percent higher than the combined 23 months of the Xbox 360 and PS3.

Maybe it will change in the next "big" update, when backwards compatibility is live, it will change things for MS? Will xbone sales slowly creep on on ps4?
