Have you played...?

They have this thing on rockpapershotgun.com called "Have you played?" which they describe as

an endless stream of game recommendations. One a day, every day of the year, perhaps for all time.

In each article the writer briefly states why they enjoyed and recommend a game - it's not an in depth review. What's nice about it is it that it may bring your attention to a game that you missed out on that looks like good fun - or it gives you a good reason to go into your backlog and install that game and play it.

I thought I'd give it a go with one addition - With the recommendation I'll post a poll so that we can see how many people in the MyGaming community have played the game, and if they recommend it or not. This way we can share the games we love with the people we love (aaawwwwwww..... )

I'll be going ahead with this - although I'll do one a week for... at least as long as the brute force comp is running

If anyone is keen to join in just post a thread whenever with your recommendation with the following title "Have you played... (insert name of game)?"
Try to include a poll with the following options:
1) Yes, and it rocked!
2) Yes, and it sucked!
3) Yeah, it was OK.
4) No.

Good idea, I do pop over to Rock Paper Shotgun occasionally.

Ya a separate thread for each game so that it can have it's own poll.

maybe this should be a subforum under general gaming to avoid "spamming" of the general forums and so these topics don't get lost.

Well hopefully people who've played the game will post a few thoughts or comments on it so we might get some discussion going. Plus I'll only be posting once a week so it shouldn't be too "spammy".

Good idea. I'll send Jan a message to see if we can set it up.

Spoke to Jan and he suggested we just post the "Have you played...?" threads under General Gaming and if it gets too spammy he'll move them into a subforum.
