Apologies to my blog/ forum readers for my plagiarism of Penny Arcade article

larch, your apology is appreciated. However, I must agree with Tsar and tehNihilist that you have a very condescending attitude towards most people on this forum.

I have read many of your posts with interest, but your reactions towards those who disagree is very often one of "I am right, you are wrong, deal with it" which hardly encourages sensible debate - and will nearly always end in as Azimuth called it, "the lol variety" of posts.

If I have misunderstood you, then I'm sorry but first impressions last, especially on a forum. As far as the blog issue is concerned, it happened, you've apologized, so lets move onwards and upwards shall we? Like Moody said, we're all friends here.

I just have to say, larch, that if you really "pride [yourself] on being a semi professional blogger", you shouldn't be, um, borrowing stuff from anyone else, anyway. I mean, what's the point of just copy-pasting something someone else said? If you're actually serious about writing, write your own stuff. It's almost irrelevant that it came from Penny Arcade - asking if you can use something someone else said about anything in your own blog kinda defeats the purpose of being a writer, doesn't it? I know I sure as hell wouldn't ever do that.

I joke I joke, seriously though dude, we're chillaxed to the max here (except for when Azimuth and Gradius find themselves in the same thread, but we don't talk about that. ). If you feel so passionate about writing, why not approach Tincan/Rustbucket and ask them if they would consider your opinion pieces instead? I doubt anyone takes any forum topic on here seriously anyway unless it's published on the MyGaming article page by Tincan.

Tons of us have posted articles that we find online, not because we think nobody will notice that it's plagiarism, but purely because we find it interesting and thought others might too. Like I said way back when, don't take yourself [read 'anyone of us on here'] so seriously...nobody else does.

I've had my scribblings and ideas nicked before and it hacks me off no end, so I have zero sympathy for anyone who stoops as low as plagiarism. Also, judging by the tone, I'm not sure how much of this thread is an apology and how much is martyrdom.

However, the only way up is to apologize and take it on the chin, so points for that, I suppose.
