I have no idea why mackenzie is in the team? Im sure theyve couldve shifted the line up around a little to accommodate prince, mackenzie is only good at minnow bashing, anyway i hope he can stay around long enough to maintain a decent partnership with ab

Yesterday was some of the worst cricket I have ever seen South Africa play. Shocking to say the least. Hopefully they can do another saving act like the Melbourne test and keep the match alive but it is going to need a brilliant innings by either Mac, AB or JP. Going to the ground today so they better perform (Not that I ever wnt to a test match which South Africa won).

Yeah i have to agree..The bowling was really pathetic rite through the day and then when the batting started it went from bad to worse!!
Ive got a funny feeling that Mackenzie is gonna score a ton 2day and after reading what ab said during the week, I think he'll also be putting up a huge fight and maybe even score his 100!!

Well, it did get worse after all. They couldn't bat to save their lives...
At least AB got his 100.

Well he was one of the top Test run scorers in 2008, ahead of Prince if I remember right. Also being an opener is alot harder then batting further down the order for a number of reasons.

We have better openers though, plus he isn't really one, he is a #3, #4.
Yes, fair and well, they had some nice opening partnerships over the last year, but he fails more often than what he succeeds. His record speaks for itself.

Amla and Smith are better and Prince can easily replace McKenzie @ #3, #4.
Hell, even Gibbs is better and I think he deserves to get a chance again.

    The stats speak for themselves:
McKenzie's test avg is +-38, he has played 56 tests, his 100's are very low at 5, and his 100 conversion rate is terrible 5/16 (100's/50's).
Prince's avg is +-45, he has played 47 tests, with 10 100's and 8 50's, (10/8 - excellent conversion rate!!) in LESS test matches than McKenzie.
    And Gibbs's avg is +-42, he has played 90 tests, with 14 100's and 26 50's.

Thank you for proving my point about mackenzie lildeath, the facts speak for themselves. Mackenzie scored most of his runs last year against minnow cricket teams(i.e. Bangladesh) and was mostly useless against real opposition, and yes opening is harder because you have to face the new ball, but i think our batting line up is strong enough to have prince open. I mean your best batsmen bat at 3 and 4, and i think most of line up could bat there, in their current form(prior to the current test)
