Steam games not updating?

Well, I'd still like to know what's causing the problem so that I can fix it and move on, but I do appreciate the (hopefully) temporary fix.

I was getting some kind of odd error earlier where it would say "Invalid Depot Config", if that means anything?

If your running the beta client you might have that problem rather not join the beta program.

yeah that was news to me. I was under the impression that my steam is still downloading from there... will have to go check my server settings tonight!

It's not anything to do with Beta. Just Right click on game > Properties > Local Files > Verify Integrity of Game Cache.

Had the same thing for 4 different games last week, this solved it.
