Why not grab one of the Windows 7 releases now and check it out for yourself?

The User interface is most improved to me as compared to vista. All of the clumsy, troublesome interfaces are now much better. For example you no longer have to click 7 times to connect to a PPPOE connection. Instead it's all done from the tray icon. Connect, blam!

The performance increases in Win7 as compared to vista are not even up for debate!! Win7 is 100 times faster! Even faster than Windows XP in some cases. They've really worked hard to recover from the disaster of Vista. This is what we've come to expect from Microsoft.

well windows 7 is way way way more stable than vista and runs even faster than XP. I like the low memory usage to give you more headroom for apps and games. I got build 7057 and it runs really nice

Well I have downloaded it just have not had time to check it out. As for your comments regarding interface, from what I've read I agree with you completely.

On the performance side your way over exaggerating!

Every single review and test shows that Windows 7 needs more performance improvements to compare to Vista, granted it has a 5% here or there where it improves over Vista but then Vista also has 5% here or there over W7.

Vista had a bumpy start but it runs fine now. My statement above was referring to the Driver model and compatibility issues. If something does not work on Vista it also won't work on W7, we will have the same compatibility issues (unless there is a new compatibility emulator that emulates XP better). Everyone will praise W7 when it is released but it is only because the developers have had time to improve software and drivers to work with Vista.

If Windows 7 was released the same time as Vista was it would of been slandered the same as Vista!

By the way I expect Microsoft to give Windows 7 at a very low price (or free) to Windows Vista Ultimate users as I see Windows 7 as a service pack not a full blown new OS!

OH, Windows 7 is a whole new OS. Yes, the kernel remains the same, but there are significant changes to UAC and memory handling and lots of other things too.
They are introducing a new interface called Action Center, it is mind-blowing. At present Windows 7 will ship with something like 77 000 drivers. They are working very closely with all kinds of hardware vendors, that is building xml config files that can basically configure and install the device you plug in. It will even show a photo realistic image of your device. Quite amazing stuff.
Windows 7 will analyse any problems you might be experiencing, but it won't be as in your face as UAC was. You can go and view what is wrong and Windows 7 will even go and find solutions for you.

The integration with web is simply amazing as well. IE8 flies through web pages.

I am expecting only good things from Windows 7.

SP2 for Vista is also on the way iirc.
What the mind can conceive, it can achieve.

"Microsoft finally has realized its promises Windows 7 and especially the latest version build 7057. We can also say that Windows 7 build 7057 is the fastest Windows on our planet ever."

    - Windows 7 is not only faster than Vista, it is in fact even Faster than Windows XP in some cases. In terms of boot time, shutdown time, general system use, it wins hands down. Vista was released 5 years after XP? Or was it 3, I stand under correction. Anyway, That was in line with their average time taken. So there was no excuse for vista to be as sub-standard as it was. Also, more proof of this is that Windows 7 actually has lower system requirements than vista. Further proving that Vista was a poorly coded release, with minimum UI improvements and no performance improvements over XP.

    - Uh, did i mention anything about compatibility issues? Vista was a complete rebuild whereas Windows 7 is only a follow up to Vista (uses the same kernal, just a stripped down, improved version of it). Hence there will be no transition issues regarding drivers.

    - Uh, no? It wouldn't? Vista had ample time to make a success of itself. It is historically the worst windows release ever according to sales numbers. I was frankly shocked when I installed vista for the first time. I remember thinking, what have they been doing for the last couple of years? In my opinion vista spent too much time trying to comply with government regulations and instead of catering to the user catered to the software companies. Vista's objective was to "catch out" all of the consumers using pirated software and report ALL of their details to the relevant authorities. Now I don't know about you but I don't appreciate half of my system resources going towards tracking my actions on my pc. Anyone heard of privacy? Concerning the front-end, Vista took what many users believed to be simple tasks and made you click more to get there. There was no practical reason for business users to upgrade to vista either.

    - LOL! Dude it's not their fault you bought Vista. Besides, since you're so happy with vista, why not stay there Problem solved.

    Kindest regards
