Is it not true that the game offers multiple endings? We have gamers in the MyGaming forum that are playing this game for the third time already, how can you justify the claim that this game only offers 1 play through when multiple endings exist? It doesn't make sense."

    My response:

"I say this because despite there being various different routes and plot forks, the endings are very similar.

Sure, players may arrive there slightly differently, but there is no real choice when it comes to your approach to gameplay. You can make different choices at certain points, and perform certain actions, but the outcome will be similar. In truth, Heavy Rain is a very linear game.

I completed it with success in all 4 story arcs, so there is no reason for me to go back.

I don't want to say anything more on this for fear of spoiling the game.

Games like Borderlands, Mass Effect 2 and even Bioshock 2 spring to mind, as they allow for a deree of creativity in terms of the player's approach to gameplay. For instance, I replayed Bioshock 2 using only the drill and plasmids, this made it a completely differnt gameplay experience the second time around.

There are no such options in Heavy Rain, only plot forks. Also, knowing the outcome of the story, as well as the identity of the Orgami killer going into the game would make it less apealing, for me, personally.

I hope that clarifies my stance on the matter."

Awesome review, although I have to agree with Neo and say this game is definitely worth playing more than once. I'm on my third playthrough already and I'm still enjoying every second of it. Though I get Tinman's point about the story being very linear, there are ways in which you can affect to overall outcome of the game. During my second playthrough (even on my third one) I have played scenes which I never got in my first playthrough as a result of choices and/or mistakes I made during the first playthrough. Knowing who the killer is might make a second playthrough less appealing and what not, but I still thoroughly enjoyed the second playthrough. I still want to finish the game a few more times as I want to see all the possible endings that it has to offer.

Interesting points WLAD, maybe I am being a bit hard on this one. I will give a second playthrough a chance. Actually, we should create a Heavy Rain spoiler thread where we can openly discuss the story, twists etc. Just for those who have finished the game.

I also feel like I figured out who the killer is already and I really hope I'm wrong about this one.
