The FINAL FANTASY XIV Alpha Test Client can be downloaded from this page. Please refer to the following instructions on downloading and installing the game.

1. Click on the Download Installer button below.
2. Click on the URL and select Save to Disk.
The URL will become invalid after a short period of time, so be sure to click on it immediately after it appears.

:update. dreadfull slow downloads. getting 500 bytes up too 5 KB/s with spikes of 14KB/s

going by same trick as MO....
looking in the metainfo folders, using the torrent file in utorrent and putting back the downloaded file
ex:
..\Documents\My Games\FINAL FANTASY XIV Alpha Version\downloads\ffxiv-alpha\b28ad053\metainfo
1) 4.47 meg - H2010.05.12.0000
2) 2.48 gig - H2010.05.21.0000

so last night i finally did a starter quest which takes you out of town and keel dem funky mosquito. what i do like about ff14 is that it actually feels like you are getting involved over other more "generic mmo's". for example where a quest is given like zomg we need to do X and Y and that is it vs in ff14 you can clearly read the body language and facial expressions. this then gives of the feeling that something is not right and the actual urgency over some blank npc.
only thing that is irritating me is the damned aviation mouse mode, which is hardcoded. i believe that will be taken out and at least an option to go normal or inverse. seriously that is just wacked
sigh well then, saturday is next 4 hours alpha test block. then i would try do some actual actual testing over getting my initial starting quests done if it is at all possible. though i am still getting used to ff14's way of play![]()
