Welcome PixieDustxxx.
Okay, so the South African Youtube gamer scene is still in its infancy. There are only a very small handful of gamers that actively manage a Youtube account. The reasons are two-fold:
- South Africans are not in the mindset yet of using Youtube as a watching platform like in other countries. Is South Africa, the general view is still that Youtube has a bunch of funny or interesting videos. Slowly but surely the view will change, and many more Saffers will realize that there is high quality content being created and distributed through South Africa. But, at the moment, that has not yeat happened, and it's one of the reasons why Youtube gaming has not picked up in South Africa
- Our internet sucks compared to any other country in the world, making it possible for only the privileged 1% of the country to have access to high speed internet capable of servicing a gaming channel. Also, our caps are way to low to also allow people to view a bunch of videos.
But, your still young, and there is absolutely no reason for you to not aspire to Youtube greatness. In 5 to 8 years, these problems I listed above should be a thing of the past in SA, paving the way for aspiring Youtubers to find their voice and paths on the internet. So my opinions; start right now!! Do something on your own. Even if no-one watches your videos, it doesn't matter. Each video you create you learn from it and earn more experience. Once SA and it's views of online content has changed, you will have a huge history of experience to build a very successful channel on.
So, good luck to you dude/dudette!!!
