Nope, i uninstalled it when it did it the first time as i read somewhere that that might cause issues...

i also now disable all app's running in the background and it stil did the same thing.

Go to your my documents folder and check if the BFBC2Beta file is still there just delete it.
Also where the beta installed go delete it there.

not sure where it installs since I install mine all on another hhd and not in my program files.

You really shouldn't rely on Windows Update to keep your graphics drivers current. The best way is to add\remove them yourself and download the latest ones from either ATI or Nvidia, depending on your card, and use those. Then you can be 100% sure your problem is not graphics driver related. It's also best to keep your audio and motherboard drivers up-to date in the same way.

    Hope this helps.

Go to www.guru3d.com and get the latest drivers. Vista doesn't update your GFX drivers. O and for running VISTA the game will give problems because it's just Vista get win7 and all your problems will reduce

Wenzdayz I had the same problem when I played it the first time on full res, high settings - It would just crash to the desktop while loading the next mission. I set the res down, reinstalled the gfx drivers and it was fine after that.
Oh and everyone is right about the beta - EA recommends you uninstall it before playing.

    EDIT

One problem I'm really having is I can't hear the dialogue half the time
