Yeah... I was actually considering cancelling my pre-order the past few days and getting Hitman instead. Played a short 20-30 min session during lunch break and I'm glad I've kept it.

The graphics has had an overhaul, that's the first big adjustment you'll notice. I also spent about 15min adjusting my controls and this will change per person.


PS: Remember, if you get a black screen on start up, just ALT+Enter to go to windowed mode until you can set your desired resolution.

Immediately I noticed it just felt a bit smoother (despite being a little choppy frame rate) and kust looking better overall. The atmosphere, the mist, the look overall.

Haven't delved into all the settings, and left them as detected, only changing the resolution to fullscreen 1080p 120Hz and getting a steady 70(ish) frames, not and again it drops into the mid to high 50's.

My takeaways are set the following for minimal visual impact but major performance gain (at least on higher end cards):

Contact Shadows: Sun Low (compare)
Depth of Field: Medium (compare)
Local Reflection Quality: High (compare)
Particle Detail: High (compare)
Shadows: High (compare)
Volumetric Fog: High/Medium (compare)

Everything else is up to your hardware.

Got an i5 4970 (I thinks) and GTX970 HoF and 16gb RAM.

I'm pretty happy with performance thus far. I'm not really one to get antsy about that kinda stuff. As long as it looks as good as it can and still be playable, I'm happy. Though I do notice when the framerate tanks into the 40's or 30's.

Yeah I downloaded through steam and have the same thing. I hope its not borked...

It seems to be a uPlay issue. I'm playing perfectly fine and to my knowledge haven't downloaded the update.

Great game to play with friends, as long as you are close to the same level (+/- 4).

The lighting in the different environments are top notch.
