Default Quantum break won't be coming to steam

Quantum Break will be a Microsoft Store exclusive, and won't be coming to Steam.

This news comes via the Major Nelson podcast from February 12. Larry "Major Nelson" Hyrb had Xbox Games head of marketing Aaron Greenberg on the podcast to talk about the upcoming time-bending third person shooter.

Quantum Break on Windows 10 is a Windows Store exclusive," said Greenberg when asked about a possible Steam release.

Last week it was revealed that Quantum Break is coming to PC, and will be cross-buy enabled on Xbox One and Windows 10.

Quantum Break is due for release on April 5.

I've seen a lot of negative opinion on this. Being primarily a console gamer I've only really been exposed to Steam and UPlay. What about the Windows Store rubs people the wrong way other than the exclusivity?

think the reason for the windows store exclusivity is 1. to promote windows 10 and its store and 2. DX12 (which is only available on windows 10) and if its on steam valve gets a slice of the pie which ms does not want to share (im thinking slice the pie in 2 ms & remedy only or slice it in 3 ms, remedy, valve etc.).

I'm guessing this is digital DL only? No hard copies will be available?

What a way to force people to buy your product, when you restrict how they can do it... Thankfuckfully my interest in this game is not significant.

I've found nothing wrong with it. Don't really understand the hate.

Don't really understand the problem, just downloading it from a different platform, if you want you can then add it to your steam library as a "non steam" game.

Apparently adding Windows store games as "non steam" games is a huge pain in the ass..

I'm one of those stupid people who almost only get games on pc if they are on Steam and sometimes Origin. I don't know why but it feels wrong when it's not in my Steam library.

But Quantum Break looks outstanding. I loved Alan Wake back in the day and this looks even bettererer. So once the price becomes reasonable I may get this on pc.
