Need for Speed PC Version Requirements Revealed

Need for Speed is finally launching on PC in March, and it seems like it will be the definitive version of the controversial reboot of the long running racing game franchise. The PC version promises to be above and beyond either of the console versions, by adding support for not just better graphics, but also more gameplay features.

If you are at all interested in this newest iteration of Need for Speed, you probably want to know just how beefy your machine needs to be to be able to run the game. Well, the good news is, we know now:

Minimum Requirements for 720p 30fps at low settings:

OS: 64-bit Windows 7 or later
Processor: Intel Core i3-4130 or equivalent with 4 hardware threads
Memory: 6GB RAM
Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 Ti 2GB, AMD Radeon HD 7850 2GB, or equivalent DX11 compatible GPU with 2GB of memory
Hard Drive: 30 GB free space

Recommended Requirements for 1080p 60fps at high settings:

OS: 64-bit Windows 7 or later
Processor: Intel Core i5-4690 or equivalent with 4 hardware threads
Memory: 8GB RAM
Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 4GB, AMD Radeon R9 290 4GB, or equivalent DX11 compatible GPU with 4GB of memory
Hard Drive: 30 GB free space

Need for Speed will be available on PC exclusively via Origin on March 17; Origin Access members can get the game a week early.

If your PC can handle BF4 at 1080p, around 30 - 60 frames, I cannot see how this'll be any different - unless it's tweaked somehow.

Like when I first ran Evolve, I was stunned at how it ran using my GTX 650, used my brother's HD 7850, major performance jump.

It and Crysis runs on the CryEngine 3 (I think), but Crysis 3 ran much better at the same graphical settings.
