Last week my PS3 packed up. No signal display on tv via HDMI or component. Called PartServe. Will be getting a new unit. Sadly, no stock.

Both the PS3 and 360 are 'finicky' beasts. I find it is best to treat them like babies and coddle them. Keep dust away from them, keep them nice and cool with a fan blowing on them. Switch them off from the wall-socket when going to sleep / out. Seems that has helped mine last longer. Also giving them breaks by not playing too long.
But that sucks man, I know the feeling, well at least with my 360's...
My PS3's laser busted and it cost me a R1000 to fix it. Serious rip off but i was desperate and I did an update and my one controller packed up. Was from Hong Kong but hey, still sucks. feel for you guy
I agree, you shouldn't, but its the nature of the beast.
I would rather put my hardware under less strain within reason, especially if I did not have money to throw around. Gaming for 4+hrs sessions in hot SA climate can kill hardware. That's why I love winter.![]()
