And surely with that "downgrade" in quality as you say, it should come in at a lower prices compared to superior products?
Nope the Oculus will probably be around the R10 000 mark.
Maybe I'm just tainted but I always feel both Microsoft and Sony do half assed jobs when it comes to their consoles.

Also the PS4 wont be powering the PSVR, its coming with a separate GPU to give the necessary "upgrade" the console needs to power the VR...

While everyone can agree the Occulus and the Vive are statistically better units, i dont think the PS unit will be bad by any means...
Very interesting, didn't know about the separate gpu in the psvr.
Maybe it's a little bit early to call then although even Sony admitted the PSVR won't match the Vive and Rift in visuals.

Well Sony is in the best position to capture the mainstream market as the other devices require substantial financial outlay.I think Sony will sell in a week what the other devices sell in a year.

Which is true, you don't need a beast of a PC and you still need to get a VR headset which is also costly. Lets give PSVR a year or two to mature and it's price will drop. We will also start to see many more titles available, then again you can play any of the PS4 titles with the headset (just not in 3D).

I think the Vive has set the VR benchmark at the moment. In performance and price....

For sure and I don't see that changing...at least not this year an anyway.
I don't know how many of the guys have actually used VR before (Dk2 kits ect) but I can tell you now that FOV is incredibly important. Sony will have to get their fov higher before launch.
