Yeah I knew they would do it, it was just a matter of time. We are in a very weird spot tech wise right now. 4K is becoming mainstream and neither of the consoles are ready for that. With the next gen of AMD and Nvidia gpu's you'll easily be able to run 4K @60fps with high settings and yes this is possible now but it's more like 30-45fps depending on the game.

Anyway I shouldn't be comparing pc gaming and console gaming.
It is difficult to compare the two, but i do hear what you saying... I do feel that true 4k is quite a few years away from "mainstream" but thats just my opinion. Im also not to clued up on the International affairs regarding 4K, but i assume in the states and Europe its getting to be the norm? To me 4K Tv's are what full HD Tv's were sort of 8 years ago... Nice to have but with a hefty price tag...

I think its a little unrealistic to expect the console companies to deliver 4K gaming at the moment. For a start the price of the console would be silly, and there is also a lot more space for things in a PC case than, for example, the PS4 housing... (I wont say the X Box because that thing could house a small family)

Anyway... its definitly interesting to see... I wonder if they will release a PS4 upgrade at a later stage that just upscales to 4K? I dont see why its not possible. But then again, maybe the life cycle of this Gen consoles is a lot shorter than the previous?
