Default Game sales decline in February

Is the gaming industry in trouble?

Reports indicate drastic year on year declines in February

Well then they should lower prices if they wanna boost sales!

I'm actually surprised that sales are dropping. I mean, in general more "awesome" games come out than the average Joe can ever play, even if he likes them all.

    Or wait...Maybe that's a reason...

Yep. Poor sales is related to expensive prices. Doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that one out. PC games are now R399 and console games are between R599 and R699 - totally unacceptable.

Console game prices have ranged from R500 to R800 on and off again since I got a PS2 in 2002 so that cannot be the problem. PC prices needed to finally go up by a massive R99 since their prices have stagnated for like 12 years. It's probably gone down due to February being a tough month after December and January.

IMO I would say PC Games are still acceptable so my money is still there to buy... but Console games I would say drop them to between R499 and R599 thats how the publishers should do it....

R399 - PC game - totally, absolutely acceptable.

Console games, a tad high for my liking, which is the number 1 reason I haven't bought a console.

I for one would love to see that - R499 X360 pricing of 3 years ago - wouldnt that be nice - PS3 games were more expensive back then than they are now.
Most new relases have been coming in and around the R600 for the last year or so.
