    Google's Chrome and Mozilla's Firefox browsers have now started blocking the KickassTorrents website.

    Will just access it via IE or EDGE.

    Do they really think it will slow down piracy?

    I seriously doubt they're concerned about piracy. It's probably some shady adware or something that caused them to block it.

    It's almost certainly this, else it would have been a much broader blocking. (It actually says so in the article). I would guess it was a dodgy advert or something that triggered the blocking.

    You can still access it on firefox, just ignore the "this website is a forgery" warning.

    Ironic that the 2 best browsers (IMO) is blocking a pirate site...

    I agree with Metalsoup, there is probably something dodgy on the site itself.

    Update: The KAT team has found the problem, which is related to the link wrapper the site uses for external links. The wrapper is blocked now and Google has been informed accordingly.

    Firefox gets info from Google. When I clicked to allow it, in Firefox, I was send to a google page where I coudl comment on why I thought it was not malicious. That is why both blocks it.
