To me it comes down to pixel density. TVs traditionally have low ones so you have to sit far away. Since this is 4k it'll have decent density so I'd consider it a monitor.

    Neither. VA LCD panel.

I was referring to the 43" being an IPS panel. Yeah agreed my current setup just manages running my 1440p games.

The display will feature IPS 178/178-degree technology that permits extra-wide viewing angles.

Seems I was wrong - figured they'd be using the same tech for 40 and 43.

Va is similar to tn, color is better and it does a better job of blocking out the backlight and better viewing angles but that's about it.
It's not even in the same league as ips though, once you've used a 4K Ips panel it's really difficult to go back to VA and even worse to go back to tn.

My 24" is a VA panel; colour reproduction and viewing angles are great. A top-down view distorts the colour a little though.

My brother has a TN panel - sitting off to the side slightly and it starts to discolour. That was a worrying factor for me when I'd bought my VA, but was pleased by the outcome.
