    Default Cancelling a cellphone contract

    Hi folks.

Due to mtn's continually degrading and/or non existant service i am going to be cancelling when the contract runs it's course in october but my question is how do you go about this.

Do you let them know at the start of the month or after the the term ends?

15 years of being a customer meant jack shit for this company.

I'm not sure, but I'm planning on moving to someone else when my contract expires in December.

I found the following in the MTN website (if you haven't tried it yet).

Call 808 from an MTN number or 083-1808 from a Landline or non MTN number, alternatively you may send your request via e-mail to: [email protected] (Estimated response on emails between 3 to 5 working days). It is also important to note that there is a minimum of 30 days’ and maximum 90 days notice before the term end of your contract.

When your contract comes to and end, they will either continue charging you on a month-to-month basis or your number will become prepaid. You can call 808 as Blazzok said, or just go to a MTN store a month before it's set to expire and say you want to be prepaid when the contract expires. They should be able to do it from there.

What he said. I had a contract with MTN, cancelled and the contract went to prepaid after 30 days. Did the same with my Vodacom data contract.

Anybody know what email address I should use to cancel my Cell C contracts?

They keep on calling me to upgrade the devices but they can't assist in cancellation. I honestly don't have the time to hold on the line at customer care.
