But how will they know what you are up to then? I'd prefer if they know what I like so that they can better their search engines to my need. Show in their statistics that there are people who listen to doom metal and so get more doom metal bands for Google Music. Have ads that are about things that I like and in my area. And all kinds of things like that.

I like that too. I'm okay with the big G using data that I willingly and knowingly provide them, like this. A friend often tells people, big data can't track what you don't give them, and I kinda like that. Only tell the internet what you're happy with being on the internet.

i will have to check this at home, cause at work i dont like to sign in with my personal accounts a lot. as it stands i have done 31 searches lol form my work pc

haha - trust me that happens even with search history disabled.

Hell you can enable incognito browsing and it'll still (!) show you results influenced by previous searches. Thats a little dodge and shows me google knows waaaay too much. Hence me doing what little I can & disabling search history.

The area thing is pretty much instant since its IP based - if you travel you'll see...results change for each place you're at.
