I agree with that but the article says that they are different. I'm assuming one refers to a "fake" gamer and one refers to a "real" gamer.

The industry is still primarily dominated by male gamers and where members of the fairer sex are involved, it can be difficult to differentiate between a “Girl Gamer” and a “Gamer who also happens to be a girl”.
