The Main Library at Indiana University sinks over an inch every year because when it was built, engineers failed to take into account the weight of all the books that would occupy the building.

Where did you get these facts from, as I am quite sure that this one is made up. If I remember correctly this is a story that lecturers tell engineering students, to teach them to always considere all the variables.

Anyway, I agree that those blocks of text can be quite anoying.

Didn't even read all that - made me go cross-eyed.

Anyways, given what I see on some of the forums I've been on, and also considering that some of these people have actually made their way through school - I think it's fair to worry about where our education system is going.

If you really want to have your hair curl though - I'll give you guys a screenshot of the forums on myUnisa - specifically the forums for the Education students - future teachers. I want to weep.
