I'll go with the second option. I doubt your average gamer geek will want to shell out $6.60 for 10 minutes of gameplay with a girl. Although - dunno, maybe I should retract that statement - I've lost my faith in humanity a long time ago.

I believe its two things, the word spread like wildfire on the interwebz and secondly most visitors were like myself just curious to see what the website was all about with no intention of actually using the service, the combination of the two crashed the server, simple as that.
