Default iBurst offers free after midnight bandwidth

iBurst launch free broadband after midnight

All iBurst subscribers now get free internet between midnight and 8am
This is pretty awesome for people without copper access. Gamers can now download updates, or even Steam content after 12 at night without using up their cap. It's not quite uncapped, but at least it's something for the Wireless guys to get excited about.

This is AWESOME!!! Just one thing I'm still wondering about, does this start from midnight tonight or midnight tomorrow night? I hope it starts tonight because tomorrow is my off day and then I can play Battlefield 'till the sun comes up.

From midnight tonight, according to the iBurst rep on MyBB.

It's a cool upgrade, I suppose, but I never even get through all my bandwidth each month anyway, so it doesn't really affect me at all. :P I do hope to see a package price drop sometime soon, though.

Awesomeness!!! Gonna play Battlefield the whole night and if/when I get tired I'm gonna download that Yakuza 3 demo that I've been eyeing for a while now. I go through all my bandwith every month (damn PSN demos and game updates) and I usually buy 2 - 4 bandwith boosters every month, so this is really great news for me.

O_O What bandwidth package are you on? Buying 2-4 boosters is such a rip-off.

I'm on the 5 GB package. I know it's a rip-off, but when I wanna play Battlefield and I'm capped, I cave ... (Also, none of my friends have internet, so they come over to my house for their online gaming needs)

I think my bandwith usage this month was like 11GB, but that's due to me downloading the Just Cause 2 demo and PAIN updates (which were like 2GB!).

Wow, for a second i thought I might start playing online games. But then I realised I needed sleep more!

C'Mon iBurst, bring on the Weekend Uncapped!!! (Then I'll REALLY start playing Online Games!)

    .
The 5GB package does suck. I mean seriously, the 2GB package + 3x 1GB boosters work out cheaper...

I've been really unhappy with iBurst the last few months, and while this is a nice offering from them, it doesn't fix the underlying problems with their service. I can also all to easily see this going the same way as the 64kbs throttled service, where it's only available on the more expensive contracts, and I can't imagine that it'll be cheap either. I remember figures around R500 being bandied around on the MyBB forum a few months ago, which when added to a 5gb contract package will very quickly nudge you up to the R1000 mark.

As it stands, this may keep me with them for a few more months, but I'll be swapping to ADSL as soon as I've sorted out the details with my housemates.

The 64k service is free to existing Contract holders, and is available to ALL iBurst Wireless subscribers as a VAS.
