Default Brexit effect on hardware prices?

So as most of you know, or should know. UK voted to exit the EU.

What will this mean for Hardware pricing in South Africa. The Dollar just got stronger and the pound is falling.

New taxes will be implemented and many more regulation will be changed and adjusted.

I feel the pricing locally will most likely rise now.
I am just glad that I bought mu GPU last week already. RIP all the new 1080s yet to arrive.

Or what do you guys think?

Do we get our hardware from the UK? Why would the UK have an influence on hardware pricing ? Unless the rand losses significantly more to the dollar.

The new taxes and regulations will be for things coming through the UK. Shouldn't influence us much as we already have trade agreements with the states/eu, ect Will need one with the UK thought.

I wouldn't be surprised thought if some rise prices citing this even if it has no influence.

It is effecting the entire world. The Dollar got stronger and the Rand Weaker.
Companies are doubting dealing with UK now, and are very hesitant.

It has a much larger impact than just the UK. It will have effect world wide

Cant see Brexit being an issue for anyone but Britian. Even then, its not going to be too bad on their side.

People are so scared of change, just raise your middle finger and keep on. You will survive.

Also by my quick deductions and google fu I see the rand dollar exchange rate has dropped in our favour by about a rand since last night, so, thats nice.

It is the worlds problem. Not just UK. It puts doubts in minds of Global investors and companies.
The Rand to Dollar was 14.16 Yesterday. Is up over 15 again.

So it WILL impact us here in South Africa. Damnit it will even impact the Eskimo in Greenland

Seriously, what Flex said. This is a global thing that's happening. As things stand right now, we're the country outside of Britain that got hit the hardest compared to the US Dollar in the past 24 hours (although I do believe a big part of that was our normal fluctuation. We were at 15 ZAR/USD earlier in the week already). Asian markets are collapsing on the back of investors being scared of the instability that the decision and Cameron's resignation is causing. I'm not preaching doom and gloom or anything, but it's a little naive to think that the UK and their economy doesn't affect us..

i think flex is onto something. do we not get our hardware from UK or do we get them from the EU? Or do we get them straight from the manufacturing countries?

like cpu are they not sold in batches of 1000's then our suppliers will buy like 100 from a uk supplier and bring that in at a time?

What we'll likely see is that some manufacturers (Dell as an example) that supplies to Sub-Saharan Africa via a UK based distributor will likely have an upwards trend. Plenty of our kit comes via Poland, India, China and Japan though.

However, what need to be kept in mind is that ALL international shipping transactions are done in USD and not in local currencies, so with the USD getting stronger we are going to kak off.

But surely pricing/costing is done in local currencies and then converted to USD?
