    Yep, I was being sarcastic

Oh an for the record, I would only DL a pitarted game in extreme cases, such as the one you bought not physically working - not due to requirements or anything, it just doesn't work. The way I see it, I've already paid for my copy, now give me something that works!

I don't have a single pirated game in my collection and I'm very proud of that. It does cost a fortune to avoid piracy however, but I do believe it's worth it at the end of the day.
My ignore list: growing too fast to keep updating.

I share your pride. Back in the day I had entire shelves lined with pirated copies - now I can look at my single shelf of 20 - 30 odd titles and I actually feel an odd sense of accomplishment. Odd, isn't it? Maybe it shows that I have something to show for my hard-earned cash.

I just counted up my Xbox games - 65 boxes, all originals. I've easily got 3 or 4x that number in PC games, as well as a modest collection of Wii, PS2, DS, and PSP titles. It's cost me a fucking third world country's national deficit. :P

Interesting actually. I guess if one really did look into it thoroughly one could find loopholes and facts that work for both sides of the argument. So piracy isn't a crime, but perhaps copyright infringement is a crime? I see above it says it isn't always, but then when is it and when isn't it?

As to where I stand, buying pirated games, movies, cd's, etc is out. I think it is completely unfair to the companies/artists who put their hard work into it and get no reward. As to me downloading a show online that is shows on my tv as well... I just want to watch the media at my own time and not when it is played.

articles like this will accomplish either of the following:

    - everyone will now pirate even more than before as they want as it will take too much effort to be brought to justice. and even if you do get caught you only pay the license value of what you have pirated...
    - someone out there will realise that the lack of criminal status is a crime in itself and will work hard to change the laws accordingly.

i used to not see the problem with piracy, until i started working and earning my own money, and collecting my own set of possessions. once you realise that piracy is the same as someone walking into your house and taking your stuff, it changes your outlook. now i am "piracy free since 2003"!!!
