They are full of crap i dealt with them when my 60gb pack up last year july, i got the replacement unit back in december when i forgot about the 60GB unit and already bought a 120Gb unit in september. So i agree there service is shitty. But when they have units it instant no waiting time.
On the Remanufatured or refurbished issue. The replacement console comes in a new box all sealed up, looks like new works like new. So i dont see the point of what the difference is.

You shouldn't have any issues. The new replacement machine come with later edition parts the plder parts arent used again due to failure rates being higher.

I agree between partserve and SKE someone is lying but you find out, so don't bother with them. Its like figuring out our goverment, and if they actually are working for the people or themselves.

A guy from PlayStation also phoned me. He said that the stock at partserve now is new. Apparently they sometimes give refurb, other times new. Also, my swopped one's box did not have a sticker on it indicating it was referb, so, guess it's new
I guess it is luck of the draw.
