I need a "new" FPS; suggestions

Ya, I am still undecided, but I think Coop is pretty awesome. Sometimes MP can be a little too competitive, like COD4 for instance.

COD5: WAW Co-op was awesome! Doing all the single player stages, but with a buddy ... it reminds me of the days of Contra...or Ice climber

Yeah mp co-op is pretty cool, but I really just want something that I can spend 30min - 1hour on once a week or so just do hunt the AI terrs when I'm bored.

I think I'll give Vegas 2 a go...

ARMA2 was released last year, but you have to be heavy into simulation games, and need 3 keyboards worth of buttons to play . Very realistic though but too much simulation for fans of normal FPS shooters.

My recommendations might be slightly off your wish list, but FEAR2 was really awesome and as a third person tactical/RPG I definitely recommend Mass Effect 2!!

Further, what these guys said, MW2 is worth playing, there is no constant enemy spawns - if you kill them they're dead and you can move on; they also did good work with the AI, they can be quite challenging (on the harder difficulty levels of course) for example they will stay behind cover, shoot from cover with only their arms showing and pretty much pwn you if you're not careful. Try it, you wont regret it.

Hi Guys and Girls

I'm after a "new" FPS and I need some suggestions.

Let me tell you what I'm kinda looking for and we can go from there...

Something like the early Rainbow Six games, you know where you lead your team against some Terr's and beat the crap out of them, or you can leave your team in a hold /cover position and go off solo.

I like the idea of being able to play as any team member so it's not game over the second you get hit.

I really don't give a frak about mutliplayer. Yes I just said that. I really liked the setting of CoD Modern Warfare 1, but I really really really hated the never end waves of terrs unless I moved on. So if Modern Warfare 2 is like that, it won't make the list.

Also don't really want any stupid supernatural or alien crap in it. Really just looking for a tactical current era Terr, counter-terr FPS.

I don't care if it a couple of years old either...

I'm being picky I know.. really I just want the first 2-3 Rainbow six games with updated graphics, sound, engines and AI... is that too much to ask?
