    Question I need your opinion

    Hi guys.

I am putting together parts for a gaming pc build and I have come up with this:

    GeIL Evo Potenza 16GB RAM
SanDisk Ultra II 240GB SATA III 2.5-Inch 7mm
    Seagate Barracuda 1.0 TB-7200RPM-3.5” Desktop
Asus H110M-A LGA 1151 Skylake Motherboard - Intel
Biostar NVidia GeForce GTX960 SLI ready
Intel Core i7-6700K Skylake Quad Core 4Ghz
Arctic Freezer A30 AMD CPU Cooler, 320Watts,Fluid
NZXT S340 ATX Midi Tower Case - SECC Steel Frame
    ?? YAMA YA550 550w Power Supply ??

I can get components for an amazing price.
    What are your thoughts,
    Thanks
    James

    Switch out the GTX960 for a GTX1060 or a RX480.
The core i7 is not really worth the extra money over a i5, if you do not plan on overclocking don't get a K series.
The Arctic A30 will not fit on a Socket 1151 motherboard. That cooler is meant for AMD FM/AM2/3+ socket motherboards.
Never heard of a YAMA PSU, may want to get something like Seasonic, Coairsair, XFX or even a Gigabyte or Coolermaster one. A cheap PSU can do quite a bit of damage to your system, rather not risk damage and spend a little more on a trust worthy brand.

    Thanks for the reply.
The reason I went for the i7 is because I mainly run games like fsx which is highly CPU dependent and I also do a lot of video editing.
I do plan to overclock a little.
I went for the 960 because I can get it for R3150 Which a a great deal.
I will look for a new cooler and psu.
    Thanks again

I don't think you can overclock on a non Z chipset motherboard? Even so, if you're dropping that much money on those components, get a decent Z170 motherboard and not the H110.

R3150 for the 960 is a good price, however Biostar is not the greatest (or close to) manufacturer.

If you can perhaps give us a budget amount you plan on spending on the whole build, then we know what to work with.

You're still better off getting an i5, the difference between the i5-6600K and the i7-6700K :

    - i7 has 8MB Cache vs the 6MB of the i5
    - i7 is ~30% more expensive than the i5
    - i7 has 4 cores with HT, i5 has 4 cores and no HT

I'd rather get Corsair Vengeance DDR4 x 8GB RAM and a 750W PSU from either Corsair (HX750i) or Coolermaster (G750M)

Also, I'd go for a motherboard with a Z170 chipset if you're planning on doing any kind of serious overclocking.

    Yeah, or that.

    Personally I'd go with :

    Patriot Viper 4
    G.Skill Ripjaws 4
    Corsair Vengeance LPX

My budget is under R20000 and it has to include: monitor(HD), keyboard, Mouse, OS(win 10) and PC.
My original post cost just over R18000 and included: windows 10, monitor, keyboard and mouse.
    Thanks everyone

    This is another option:

    GeIL Evo Potenza 16GB RAM
SanDisk Ultra II 240GB SATA III 2.5-Inch 7mm
    Seagate Barracuda 1.0 TB-7200RPM-3.5” Desktop
Biostar NVidia GeForce GTX960 SLI ready
NZXT S340 ATX Midi Tower Case - SECC Steel Frame
Intel Core i5-6600K Skylake Quad Core 3.5Ghz
    Biostar GAMING Z170T LGA 1151
    Aerocool KCAS850M 850w Bronze Semi-Modular PSU

Including a monitor and OS this system is just under R19000
