Gtx 1080 vs rx 480?

Which one would you choose? im in 2 minds. I want the 480 because of price, but looking at http://mygaming.co.za/news/hardware/...u-compare.html i see the 480 is on par with GTX 780, 780 Ti, 970, Titan. The 1080 is one of the most powerful cards out there but that price?

480 +- 9k
1080 +- 16k

Well obviously it depends on your budget. Surely you have some idea of how much you want to spend.

The other questions are, what does the rest of you rig look like and at what resolution do you game?
The 480 is a great card for 1080p gaming though (from what I've seen in benchmarks).

So why not compare apples with apples instead of comparing apples with the all powerful GTX 1080.

So the 1060 is apparently around the performance ballpark of the 480 (allegedly, I cannot vouch for this at all) and comes in at around R5k

Or the GTX 970 which is also between R5k and R7k...

i can afford the 1080 but its 16k for a graphics card lol! My adult side is saying

R9k? Who is selling the RX 480 for 9k? It should be 5500 or maybe 6000 at the very most. In fact, Wootware has a PowerColor one selling for 4999.
