Default GTA: Episodes From Liberty City or GTA IV or what?

    Good day everyone,

I just wanted to ask what is up with Grand Theft Auto: Episodes From Liberty City? What is it? Is it the newest GTA game or what?

I used to play GTA San Andreas and I loved it, but now I am ready to buy a new game. What would you recommend and why?

    Thanks

The latest game is GTA IV, there are two mini expansions. Named Episodes from Liberty City and The Ballad Of Gay Tony

Ok cool, that makes sense. So GTA: Episodes From Liberty City is the expansion pack, but I have read that it can be played with out having GTA IV.

Has anyone played it on PC?

Haven't played it personally, but you don't need the original GTA IV to play it.
However you have to a Windows Live account and a Rockstar club account (not sure what it's really called) in order to get it running. Personally I've had no problems with my WL - but I've heard of people who have.
GTA IV is famous for being a bitch to get going - hence I have never bothered with it.

It used to be Murph, i started playing it a week ago.. bought it on launch day... Now it's the most fun I've had all year.

Grand Theft Auto: Episodes From Liberty City is a standalone compilation of the DLC episodes for Grand Theft Auto IV, containing both The Lost and Damned and The Ballad of Gay Tony on one disc.[

A mate of mine bought it about a month ago and it took him ages to actually get playing - that sort of thing just puts me off completely.
But, If they've sorted that out - no reason not to go for it.

I bought it off Steam for R132. I'm just still waiting for it to finish downloading though. Should be done by Friday, it's a 16GB download. :/

My GTAIV ran like crap on a machine at the time that should have run it without issues so I never really played it that much, went about 50% into the story and uninstalled. But I'm keen on getting it again with the 2 expansions and giving it a go.
